Holotype: JZMP-04-07-3 — A nearly complete skeleton with a skull. (Lü & Ji, 2005)

Time: Aptian, Early Cretaceous

Horizon: Yixian Formation

Location: Jinzhou District, Dalian, Liaoning Province, China

Skull length: 235 mm

Total length: 275 mm

Wingspan: 1.45 m

Diagnosis: An ornithocheirid pterosaur with at least 27 teeth in the upper and lower jaw respectively; the first nine pairs of teeth larger than others; the third and fourth pairs of teeth are the largest; theratio of the length of the mandibular symphasis to the lower jaw length is approxamately 65%; femur and tibia are approxamately equal in length, and humerus slightly shorter than femur.
