Etymology: "Ceará finger"

Holotype: F-PV-93 Incomplete skull and mandibles. (Leonardi & Borgomanero, 1985)
Referred Specimens: GIUA M. 4895 Two cervical vertebrae with their zygapophyses in natural contact (Santanadactylus brasilensis paratype). (de Buisonjé, 1980)
Time: Middle to Upper Albian, Early Cretaceous
Horizon: Santana Formation, Araripe Group
Location: Araripe Plateau, Ceará, Brazil

Diagnosis: Expanded, spatulate anterior end of mandibular symphysis considerably wider than corresponding expansion of the rostrum; basal diameter of third rostral tooth more than three times basal diameter of the fifth tooth. (Unwin, 2002)
